Real Road Traffic transforms ETS2 traffic into a realistic Southern European experience with dynamic time-based flow. This AI behavior mod simulates authentic Mediterranean highway culture (Spain, France, Italy, Portugal) with rush hours, nighttime truck traffic, and realistic overtaking.
WHAT IT DOES: Completely overhauls AI behavior AND daily traffic patterns. Experience dense rush-hour highways, truck-dominated nights, and fluid daytime traffic similar to real AP-7, A-1, French Autoroutes, or Italian Autostrade. v1.1 fixes critical issues: vehicles now appear ahead, trucks stay right, AI doesn’t accelerate when overtaken.
KEY FEATURES:
150 max vehicles (+76% vs v1.0, +170% vs vanilla)
Time-based system – 6 periods (night, morning rush, midday, evening rush, twilight, late night)
Realistic nights – 3.5x more trucks than cars (22:00-6:00)
Rush hours (6-10 AM, 2-7 PM) – 100 cars + 50 trucks
FIXED: Trucks 98% right lane (was 90%)
FIXED: Spawn 350m ahead (was 650m – now visible!)
FIXED: No defensive acceleration (ai_speed 0.85) Aggressive overtaking, compact spacing (0.35 safety), high impatience (0.30)
