Rig'n'Roll themed map modification for 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin'
By: Ivan aka. Hardtruckisthebest
.::VERSION IV::.
Please read this, otherwise you will definitely miss out on things, and/or will get lost/confused:
This mod will add a road which you can access ONLY via an exit out of San Antonio. This road connects a handful of cities and towns located in a fictional California setting. There are various companies scattered around the map, mostly located within the towns, however some are alongside the road inbetween cities. AI cars are also added in this download. You will notice that the mini-map is quite different. Read the posted notes on the map, they are useful hints! If you cannot find something, feel free to use your notebook map view, which has remained the same.
You will also notice that there are no animated targets telling you where a gas pump is located, or where to stop on the parking lot to access your garage, etc. If you are having trouble finding the correct place to stop, use the free cam to go beneath the ground, and you will see a small cone pointing upward just below where you need to stop.
Also, you will notice that there is no CB chatter. If you wish to have CB chatter, delete the STFU.scs file from your mod folder.
There are various parking lots located throughout the map, there is a parking lot & garage in nearly every city. The parking is free, it is meant for you to park miscellaneous trailers there to add realism to the map if your computer can handle it. Leave them empty if you dont have enough CPU power to handle seeing parked trailers everywhere.
For example, in the Santa Barbara loading terminal, you can access a parking lot which, if you fill with random trailers, will make the dock look as if truckers have left their trailers there to be loaded/unloaded.
There is a truck showroom located outside of Mojave. The idea here is the same as with the previous example: there is a parking lot there in which you can park two trucks. They will appear inside the showroom building. Therefore you can have any two trucks you want inside the showroom as you drive by it.
IMPORTANT!
Included in this mod are 360-degree skies. The files for these skies are very large, and therefore require lots of RAM. If you notice your game crashes unexpectedly, and your log says something about being unable to find an empty memory block, delete the sky_HIGHRES.scs file from your mod folder. The game will now read the sky_LOWRES.scs file, which is much better for performance.
There is a "test track" located outside of FRESNO. Use the map view in your notebook to find the route to it. The track is a large oval with a tight winding road in the center. It is the ideal place to test your truck.
**PLEASE VISIT OUR TRUCKSIMS OFFICE LOCATED IN MOJAVE!
If you find it, take a screenshot with your truck parked infront of our office and post it at our official message board,
